Kareena Kapoor:"I don't want be size zero any more"

Size zero is out for actress Kareena Kapoor. In her next release, "Kambakht Ishq", she plays a surgeon who moonlights as a supermodel and for it she has put on extra pounds.

"I weigh 54 kg now, which for a girl of my height is quite fine. People used to wonder what ’size zero’ is and I’d joke, ’Just look at me’. I don’t want that any more. I want to look like a normal healthy girl. My forthcoming releases required me to get back to a fuller shape," said Kareena, who sported size zero in "Tashan" and "Golmaal Returns".

"In ’Kambakht Ishq’, my character flies to Italy to become a supermodel to support herself financially. I didn’t want to play the character looking like an international model because she’s basically in another profession. So she can’t really have the figure of Victoria Beckham, can she? I had to look more filled up," she told IANS.

In "Mr & Mrs Khanna" too, Kareena is sporting the same look."Again, for my next release ’Mr & Mrs Khanna’ with Salman Khan, I play a wife. So I wanted to look more filled up. Aamir's Ghajini release date pre-poned

The Perfectionist seems to have lost his spirit following the recent terror attacks in Mumbai. He poured out his anger through his blog. As if that was not enough, he criticised the media for being irresponsible. He said that minute by minute live reporting could endanger the whole operation process. He added that he proposed to the makers of Ghajini to delay its release, as he was not in the frame of mind.

On the contrary, Ghajini producer Madhu Mantena says that the film will arrive earlier. The film was slated for release on Thursday, 25th December, but the makers have decided to release it on Wednesday, 24th December night. "We’re organising paid previews across the country on Wednesday night, which means we’re releasing Ghajini a day earlier," Madhu tells me.

Ghajini is no doubt one of the most-awaited Bollywood films of the year. Aamir Khan has infected the minds of the people with his stunning photo shoots. His muscular look in the promotional photos was something that not even his fans imagined. Film lovers may be dying to see him in action but the he has a different view. He said that he wanted to postpone the release of the film.

Aamir may be aware of the current economic situation too, which is turning from bad to worst, but the makers of the film are adamant on releasing it as scheduled on 24th December. John Abraham is sexiest Asian in the world for 2008

Bollywood actor John Abraham has been adjudged the sexiest Asian man in the world in 2008. In the annual round conducted by Eastern Eye, a leading British Asian weekly, Abraham emerged the top in a shortlist of 10.

The weekly sent judges a shortlist of 10 names. The judges then ranked the names according to their individual preferences and the newspaper then compiled the results to produce a final list. "John Abraham made up for a quiet year with a sensational look in Dostana, with one of the greatest physiques ever seen on the big screen. His body helped to make the film a hit with Asian women," Hamant Verma, editor of Eastern Eye, said.

The judges included Brianna Ragel, editor of Asian Woman Magazine, Che Kurrien, editor of GQ India and the former editor of FHM India, Farhad Dadyburjor. 2007’s top guy actor Shah Rukh Khan stood at third place after Hrithik Roshan in second place. Abraham was at third place last year.

Newcomers to the 2008 list include TV presenter Rav Wilding (20) and actors Harman Baweja (22) and Stephen Uppal (21). Britons on this year’s list include Upen Patel (five), Jay Sean (nine) and boxer Amir Khan (ten).

The top ten sexiest male includes, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ali Zafar, Upen Patel, Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Imran Khan (actor), Jay Sean and boxer Aamir Khan. Aishwarya Rai’s Dirty Little Secret

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan revealing a secret? For those who have known Aishwarya and have followed her career and (ahem) life, it comes as a surprise when one reads a secret coming out of her mouth. The actress concealed the fact that she was dating Abhishek Bachchan for months before their ’sudden’ engagement in January 2007. A secret revealed by herself is such a rarity that one has to take a deep breathe to realise what was just said.

All my chitter-chatter aside, it was recently revealed that former Miss World and International superstar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan chose to do the Hollywood film, Pink Panther 2, because of her admiration for Peter Sellers, the British comedian who played Inspector Clouseau in four Pink Panther movies. Aishwarya says “I loved Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther series when I was a kid and watched these films. It was hilarious, a laugh riot and a thorough family entertainer. People across different age groups love The Pink Panther because the films always bring a smile to one’s face.”

She added she said yes because she thought it would be a fun film to work on, “When I was offered this film, I was really excited as for me I was doing something which I have loves seeing as a child. It was a fun film which I would enjoy working in. The film did not require me to do intense acting and I did not have to look forward to scoring points as it had an ensemble cast of terrifically talented actors. I wanted to have a good time with all of them and I said a yes to the project. I’m not expecting critical acclaim or something from this film since the film is not about me, it’s about Steve Martin and The Pink Panther.” The film opens on February 6th.

It wasn’t much dirty but hey, a secret is a secret after all, right? Let’s hope she’s just as open to other questions like: How did she prepare for her World Peace speech at the Miss World pageant? Vidya's Family Affair

There was practicallly a Raj Kapoor kind of Kal, Aaj Aur Kal scene on the sets of Vishal Bharadwaj’s Ishqiya.

Vidya Balan’s 80-year-old aunt had accompanied Vidya’s mother and sister to the shoot in Wai. "It was quite a sight to watch the three women of three different generations interacting with each other. Vidya’s aunt was pretty excited to watch the shooting of the film," revealed a unit member.

Vidya’s aunt has been avid Hindi film buff. "This was the first time that she had actually got an opportunity to watch a film shoot. She was as excited as a child in a toy store. Vidya’s aunt was amused by the constant call for silence on the sets. She also felt worried for the assistant director! The AD’s constant screaming, she feared, would make him lose his voice." Ranbir hit Katrina on nose

An unintentional blow from Ranbir Kapoor left Katrina Kaif injured on the sets of a Rajkumar Santoshi film.

It happened last week when Asia’s newly voted sexiest woman was shooting with Bollywood’s new pin-up boy for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani on an elaborate set at Madh Island.

The duo was shooting a chase sequence in which they were followed by some goons. In the scene, Ranbir suddenly turns around to face the bad guys. However, when the actor did so, his hand inadvertently hit Katrina on her face and the delicate actress was left with a bleeding nose.

According to reports, Ranbir immediately apologized to the actress, but she took no offence because she knew the blow wasn’t intended. However, Katrina was in pain and had to be given first-aid on the sets.

A worried Santoshi called off shooting for the day. The next day, too, Santoshi did not shoot the film but used the free time to do some decoration on the sets.Katrina has confirmed to the media that such an incident did take place, but says she is fine now.Meanwhile, Ranbir must be hoping that Salman Khan takes the incident lightly.
